Building Occupant Evacuation Drills
|
Although it’s impossible to replicate the conditions of fire infiltration, a building population and elected emergency coordinators should be well-informed regarding the building evacuation plan. This can be accomplished by thorough fire drill training, which allows occupants to learn how to safely relocate and use evacuation routes. As a result, they will be less likely to panic than individuals who are unaware of the correct action to take.
Panic is one aspect of a fire emergency with which evacuation team personnel must be prepared to cope. They must familiarize themselves with the duties they are expected to perform in the event a fire emergency. It is also critical for the building occupants to participate in fire drills in preparation for unexpected situations that will require prompt action.
Our field consultants observe and ensure compliance during the fire drill evacuations, and support the elected building floor wardens and supervisory personnel in evacuation safety. They also evaluate the evacuation procedures and exercise overall direction and responsibility for the orderly evacuation of personnel from the building.
